PlayStation 5 Trophy hunters are about to embark on quite the challenge with the upcoming PS5 port of Sea of Thieves, which boasts an impressive tally of over 250 Trophies waiting to be unlocked.
Set to hit Sony’s newest console on April 30 as part of Xbox’s multiplatform strategy, Sea of Thieves joins other former Xbox exclusives like Hi-Fi Rush, Grounded, and Pentiment in making the leap to PlayStation. Rumors swirling around suggest that many more Xbox titles are primed to follow suit, as an insider hints that a majority of Xbox games will eventually find their way to the PS5. This strategic shift from Xbox is purportedly aimed at bolstering revenue, particularly in regions outside the United States where Xbox sales have struggled. While some Xbox fans may be vexed by this new approach, many PlayStation enthusiasts welcome the expanded selection of games.
Sea of Thieves’ PS5 port not only brings exciting gameplay but also boasts an extensive lineup of Trophies, as revealed by TrueTrophies. Upon launch, the game will feature 60 base Trophies and an additional 194. Achieving the coveted Platinum Trophy requires completing the 60 base challenges,
though tackling all 254 Trophies may seem daunting. However, players who have previously unlocked Sea of Thieves achievements on other platforms will find some relief, as certain Trophies automatically unlock upon logging into their existing account. Nonetheless, the majority of Trophies will need to be earned anew. PlayStation owners eager to set sail on the open waters can preorder Sea of Thieves for $40.
Sea of Thieves’ Trophy list spans a wide array of tasks, including challenges related to combat, sailing, looting, and more. Similar to other games,
Trophy hunting in Sea of Thieves offers a roadmap to explore the game’s most captivating aspects. However, some Trophies may require considerable time investment, such as the Voyager of Lost Souls Trophy,
demanding completion of 250 Order of Souls voyages.
In anticipation of Sea of Thieves’ PS5 release, Rare has been diligently enhancing the game in recent months. In March, Sea of Thieves finally received a legitimate anti-cheat system, poised to address the longstanding issue of cheating in the cross-platform game.
Furthermore, Rare unveiled the 2024 roadmap for Sea of Thieves later in March. This year promises exciting additions such as new weapons, movement mechanics, ship types, and more, ensuring players continue to enjoy thrilling adventures on the high seas.
