Following its journey across various platforms, Slice & Dice has now made its debut on Steam, marking an opportune moment to introduce its presence to you.
The game offers a straightforward turn-based RPG experience centered around dice-based tactical battles. In each playthrough, players lead a team of five heroes, each represented by a distinct die. Confronting monsters whose actions are governed by dice rolls, players must strategically coordinate attacks and defenses to prevail while preserving their heroes. Success in overcoming adversaries grants healing, bonuses,
and progression to subsequent challenges. Victory is achieved after triumphing in 20 battles.
Despite its apparent simplicity, the game boasts considerable depth. With an extensive roster of over 128 hero classes, 73 varieties of monsters, and 473 items to acquire, players have ample opportunities for customization and strategic planning. Each hero class features its own die with unique faces, and upgrades unlock diverse paths of hero progression. Additionally,
items can alter or substitute faces on heroes’ dice, introducing new effects and enriching gameplay.
Furthermore, the game offers flexibility through features such as dice rerolling and result locking before decisions, alongside a convenient undo function. This empowers players to approach each turn methodically,
treating it as a tactical puzzle to optimize their strategy. Alternatively,
players can adopt a more aggressive playstyle with full-on berserker tactics.
Slice & Dice is available for purchase on Steam at $9, or as part of a bundle including the Android version on itch.io for $18.
