As a tribute to the second anniversary of Dying Light 2, Techland has launched the groundbreaking “Firearms Update,” offering players a plethora of new weapons to enhance their gameplay experience.
This update marks the most extensive post-launch addition to Dying Light 2 yet, packed with exciting features and numerous bug fixes aimed at improving overall player satisfaction.
Similar to its predecessor, Dying Light, Techland has consistently supported Dying Light 2 with multiple DLC releases and significant updates, all offering free content for players. The year 2023 proved pivotal for Dying Light 2 as Techland diligently collected player feedback and implemented various quality-of-life enhancements. Concluding 2023 with the “Winter Tales” content update, Techland remains committed to its five-year plan for Dying Light 2, with the Firearms Update serving as the inaugural content addition for 2024.
Techland’s recent blog post provides a comprehensive overview of the Firearms Update (version 1.15) for Dying Light 2, introducing an array of new pistols, SMGs, rifles, shotguns, and more. Players who log in before March 7 will receive a free Harran Pistol, with additional firearms accessible through completing the “Lost Armory” quest and progressing the story.
Moreover, engaging in the all-new Survivor and Elite Missions alongside friends offers the chance to earn Watcher Tokens, which can be used to purchase new firearms from Jai the Watcher. As players increase Jai’s reputation rank, a wider selection of firearms and items become available.
In addition to new firearms, quests, and missions, players can participate in special Anniversary Bounties to earn rewards celebrating the Dying Light franchise. These rewards include the Acolyte Outfit, Nocturnal Tribal Machete, and Scorpio. With a total of 12 bounties spread over three weeks, players have ample opportunities to earn free rewards. Completing all bounties also grants 50 Pilgrim Tokens to those with a Techland Pilgrim Outpost account. Additionally, players can face off against new Renegade Grenadier enemies and acquire 11 new Nocturnal weapons, further enriching the gameplay experience.
The Firearms Update also brings several balance adjustments and major bug fixes to Dying Light 2. Legend Levels are now more accessible due to a revamped progression system, with an additional 50 levels introduced. Reaching the Platinum Tier unlocks five new upgrades, offering players even greater customization options.
For those new to the game or looking to catch up, the Dying Light 2 Reloaded Edition includes all previously released content up to the Firearms Update. Moreover, Dying Light 2 is free to play on Steam from February 22 to February 26, allowing players to experience the latest changes before making a purchase.
The Firearms Update represents Techland’s ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional post-launch support for Dying Light 2, ensuring players continue to enjoy new content and improvements as they explore the world of Villedor.
