Battlefield insider reveals next game’s weapons and maps!

An industry insider has shared exciting information about the upcoming Battlefield game, including insights on its maps,
weapons, and the time period in which the game is set. Battlefield publisher EA recently offered a glimpse of the next installment with a piece of concept art, confirming that it will take place in a modern setting.

In an interview with IGN, Vince Zampella, the founder of Respawn Entertainment and Vice President of EA, confirmed that the new Battlefield game will echo the modern environments of Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4.
He noted that the shooter, which has yet to receive an official title, will return to a classic format featuring 64 players per map. This change comes after Battlefield 2042’s attempt at larger 128-player maps faced criticism from fans. Zampella emphasized a preference for “dense, well-designed play spaces.”

Industry insider Tom Henderson has provided additional details through InsiderGaming, stating that the first-person shooter is expected to be set between 2027 and 2030, aligning with Zampella’s modern setting confirmation. According to Henderson, players can look forward to 45 different weapons at launch, doubling the amount available in Battlefield 2042. EA is reportedly aiming to launch with around 10 multiplayer maps.

Regarding the game’s setting, while fans speculated based on the concept art, Henderson suggests that the action will unfold across various locations, including Gibraltar and the USA. He also mentioned that there could be a Battle Royale mode set in a tropical area within the U.S.

The Battlefield franchise is known for its destructible environments, and sources indicate that DICE is making significant enhancements to this feature. Henderson reports that the upcoming game will include “caliber-based destruction,” similar to that found in Rainbow Six Siege, meaning the extent of environmental damage will depend on the ammunition caliber used.

As for the title of the new game, DICE is still deliberating. Surveys have been circulated to fans, allowing the Battlefield community to vote on whether to name the next entry Battlefield 6 or simply Battlefield.

As more details emerge, excitement continues to build for the next chapter in the Battlefield series, promising an engaging experience for players.
