Apex Legends unleashes free Apex packs for players!

Apex Legends enthusiasts have a new incentive to dive back into the game, as Respawn Entertainment is doling out complimentary Apex Packs for a limited period. This move from the developer comes in response to the recent account issues that plagued players, including resets and lost battle pass progress.

The troubles with player accounts arose earlier this month following the April Fools’ update for Apex Legends. Unfortunately, these issues went beyond mere gameplay tweaks, as many users experienced extensive data outages and even saw significant portions of their account data and cosmetics vanish. While Respawn appears to have resolved most of these account-related woes, the ordeal left many members of the Apex Legends community understandably frustrated.

Thankfully, players are being rewarded for their patience during this tumultuous time. Respawn recently announced that they’re distributing free Apex Packs as a token of appreciation for the community’s understanding throughout the data outage and subsequent recovery efforts. By simply logging into their accounts by April 24th at 10 AM PT, players will receive eight complimentary Apex Packs. While these packs contain the usual assortment of cosmetics, they provide fans with additional chances to unlock coveted Heirloom Shards, which can be used to acquire Mythic items like Heirlooms and Prestige Skins. Notably, players can open these packs at their leisure once received.

Since Respawn’s announcement, many players have expressed gratitude on social media. However, concerns linger regarding the state of the game, particularly in Season 20, which has encountered numerous issues since its February launch. Despite introducing several positive changes, such as the Legend Upgrade system and alterations to the EVO shields, the persistent presence of cheaters and hackers remains a pressing concern.

In addition to the usual suspects in Ranked and other modes, a recent hacking incident disrupted an official Apex Legends tournament. During the ALGS regional finals in North America, pro players Phillip “Imperialhal” Dosen and Noyan “Genburten” Ozkose were targeted, with one encountering aimbot and the other wall hacks. Consequently, the tournament was postponed, prompting Respawn to assure the community that they’re actively addressing the matter.

As Season 20 progresses, players hope for smoother sailing ahead,
free from major hacking incidents and data outages, allowing everyone to enjoy the game as intended.
