EA Sports just dropped some exciting news about Madden NFL 25, their latest edition of the popular football video game, set to launch on August 16, just in time for the new NFL season!

This year, they’re teasing improvements like a revamped Franchise mode, which includes a redesigned rookie draft experience for all you aspiring general managers. Let’s talk about the stars! Tyreek Hill, the Super Bowl champ and Pro Bowl regular, is making headlines as Madden NFL 25’s top wide receiver with a perfect 99 OVR rating. This makes him the first Miami Dolphin ever to score a 99! He had an incredible 2023 season, including a record-setting 1,000 receiving yards by the eighth game and hitting 10,000 career receiving yards by Week 17. Justin Jefferson from the Minnesota Vikings, who was last year’s 99 OVR wide receiver, is now at 98 OVR, partly because of an injury that kept him out of a few games last season.

On the defensive side, Jessie Bates III of the Atlanta Falcons is the top safety with a 97 OVR rating. He’s made a big leap from his 91 OVR rating in Madden NFL 24, thanks to a standout performance after joining the Falcons from the Cincinnati Bengals. Bates was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week twice in 2023, and he’s expected to shine again this season.

This year’s game also introduces BOOM Tech, a brand new system designed to enhance gameplay by changing tackle physics.
