Final Fantasy 14 unveils first event since Dawntrail launch!

Final Fantasy 14 has confirmed the return of the annual Moonfire Faire, marking the first event of the new Dawntrail expansion since its launch on July 2. Participants in the Moonfire Faire will have the chance to earn the new “Uchiwasshoi” emote and a bomb-themed decoration for their virtual homes.

This announcement comes just days after the release of Final Fantasy 14 Patch 7.05. The update introduced the Cenote Ja Ja Gural treasure dungeon, the Arcadion’s first Savage raid tier, and various Job balance updates. Key changes include reworks to the Viper’s core rotation, adjustments to the Black Mage based on player feedback, and potency buffs for the Paladin, Machinist, and Red Mage. The Samurai received nerfs to its core rotation but saw an increase in the frequency of its Tsubame-gaeshi ability to compensate.

With the 7.05 content update now available, Final Fantasy 14 has outlined plans for Dawntrail’s first event. According to Square Enix, the Moonfire Faire will begin on Thursday, August 8, at 4:00 AM Eastern, and will run until Monday, August 26, at 10:59 AM Eastern. Players wishing to join the festivities must accept the level 30 quest “Fire Red, Beast Green” in the Upper Decks of Limsa Lominsa from a Lalafell NPC named Mayaru Moyaru. The quest will guide players to Costa del Sol in Eastern La Noscea,
where they can tackle the traditional Eorzean Nimble Warrior obstacle course.

The annual Moonfire Faire will run from August 8 to 26. Players at level 30 or higher can participate via the quest “Fire Red, Beast Green” in Limsa Lominsa. New rewards include the “Uchiwasshoi” emote and the Bouncing Bomb Balloon housing item.

Completing the 2024 Moonfire Faire quests will reward players with the “Uchiwasshoi” emote, which allows characters to wave a large fan with a Namazu face on it. Additionally, players can obtain a Bouncing Bomb Balloon indoor furnishing item, which can be placed on a table inside any size of house or apartment. Both items will be available during the Moonfire Faire and will become unobtainable until next year. Previous Moonfire Faire items, such as the Phoenix Riser attire, will be available for purchase at the Final Fantasy 14 Online Store once the event begins.

Players looking to collect past Moonfire Faire items at a discount will have another opportunity during this event. With the return of the Moonfire Faire and scheduled appearances at Gamescom and PAX West, Final Fantasy 14 players have much to look forward to throughout August.
