Back in 2019, when it was just called Project Eve, Shift Up planned to release it for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. But, hold on to your hats, because PS5 exclusivity was dropped during the State of Play, adding an extra dash of excitement. It might come to PC eventually, like some other PlayStation exclusives, but that’s still up in the air.
Oh, and did we mention how stylish it is? Shift Up treated us to over six minutes of gameplay during the State of Play livestream, giving us the lowdown on the combat, environments, skills, and more. Check it out for yourself – it’s like a mix of Bayonetta, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy VII Remake, and Nier Automata. The trailer is packed with action, where you’ll be shooting and slicing your way through these alien-looking monsters called Naytibas that are causing trouble on Earth. Now, the story is pretty straightforward but with a side of intense action. The emergence of Naytibas has Eve, a member of the 7th Airborne Squad, dropping onto the post-apocalyptic planet. As one of the few capable of saving Earth from Naytiba control, it’s up to Eve – and a bunch of side characters she meets on the way – to take them all down.
Let’s talk about the outfits because, seriously, they’re a major selling point. Throughout the State of Play trailer, Eve is rocking different clothes – from form-fitting catsuits to stunning jackets with funky patterns, wine-soaked blouses, cropped tops, cocktail dresses, and even bikini wear. She’s a style icon, and I can already imagine people cosplaying as her.
And that’s the lowdown on Stellar Blade for now. With “stellar” in the title, it’s no surprise that this game is living up to the hype. Shift Up’s character action game is looking like it’ll be one of the PlayStation 5’s most stylish exclusives when it drops on April 26. Get ready for some serious gaming glamour!
