A bold step: Fortnite removes over 100 maps!

Epic Games recently made a big move by removing and banning more than 100 Creative mode maps that breached the content rules.

Fortnite is well-known for its Battle Royale mode, but did you know it initially aimed for Save the World to be the main mode? However, Battle Royale’s popularity took the spotlight.

As players fell in love with Playground mode, they wanted more customization options. Enter Creative mode, giving gamers the freedom to build their own maps and create unique experiences. Epic Games didn’t stop there – they kept working on Creative, evolving it into Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN), also known as Creative 2.0. Now, fans can craft their own games in Fortnite with tutorials and tools making it more accessible.

But, here’s the scoop – not all creators are spreading good vibes. Some started making and sharing inappropriate content, especially maps with racist themes. Fortnite fans weren’t having it and flooded Epic Games with complaints. The result? Epic Games stepped up, removing over 100 maps that broke the Fortnite Creative code of conduct.

Props to Epic Games for listening to the gaming community and taking action! However, there’s room for improvement in the moderation process to ensure these kinds of maps never resurface.

Fans are hopeful that Epic Games learns from this hiccup and develops a better strategy. Plus, they’re not shy about expressing their desire for Epic to take strong action against those misbehaving Fortnite users. Let’s keep the Fortnite vibes positive and game on!
