Fortnite is once again dropping hints about a beloved character,
with Midas poised to make a return to the island soon.

The tease surfaced on the official Fortnite X/Twitter account, with a tweet stating, “Midas returns,” accompanied by an image showing him ominously approaching a door, with two lifeless bodies nearby. While the extent of his comeback’s impact remains uncertain, the image suggests it will tie into ongoing events this season.

Thanks to insights from Shiina, a prominent Fortnite content creator,
players have gained more details about what to expect with Midas’ return. Tomorrow’s update will unveil in-game files featuring various items and events, likely to be scrutinized by the community through datamining.
Among these additions are hints of a Floor is Lava mode, the reappearance of the Drum Gun in the loot pool, upcoming skin releases in the next Crew Pack, and more.

For those unfamiliar, Midas was introduced in Fortnite during Chapter 2: Season 2 as the final skin in that battle pass. Since then, he has made appearances in different forms purchasable from the item shop.
Previously presumed dead after an attempt to break through the storm circle in Chapter 2, he later appeared as a ghost during a Halloween event. However, the recent image shared by Epic depicts him entering the same glowing green light prevalent in The Underworld on the current Fortnite map, suggesting that death may be temporary in the Fortnite universe.
