There’s a buzz about classic LucasArts point-and-click titles like Grim Fandango, Full Throttle, and Day of the Tentacle potentially making their way to the PlayStation 5. While LucasArts might ring a bell mainly for their Star Wars games, they were also pioneers in the ’90s with story-driven PC adventures. Think clever puzzles, memorable characters, and gripping narratives!
Among their gems, Day of the Tentacle stands out – a sequel to Maniac Mansion, where you hop across time to foil a mutant tentacle’s evil plans. Then there’s Full Throttle from 1995, putting you in the biker boots of Ben, with voice talents including Mark Hamill. And who can forget Grim Fandango, blending 3D graphics with a gripping tale of the afterlife’s mysteries?
Now, word on the street – or should we say, the internet – suggests these classics might be headed to PS5. Recently, the Taiwan ratings board listed Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango, and Full Throttle for the platform, stirring up excitement among gamers. While these titles got remastered releases in the past, having them on PS5 could mean new bells and whistles.
Previously, Double Fine, a studio with roots in LucasArts, handled the remasters. But with Xbox reportedly opening up its exclusives to other platforms, these beloved classics might just find a new home on PlayStation. Fingers crossed this leak turns out to be true – we’d love to see these timeless adventures get a new lease of life on the latest console!
