Helldivers 2 has soared to new heights as PlayStation’s most successful PC release, doubling the record previously held by the acclaimed title, God of War.
Over the weekend, Helldivers 2 reached an impressive peak concurrent player count of 155,926, surpassing God of War’s peak concurrent players, which stood at 73,529.
Initially reported by PC Gamer on Friday, Helldivers 2’s success wasn’t guaranteed, especially amidst server troubles and negative reviews. However, it’s evident that this cooperative third-person shooter has firmly established itself as a triumph.

Helldivers 2, a cooperative third-person shooter set in a tongue-in-cheek universe, follows the adventures of the Helldivers of future Super-Earth.
Their mission? To combat aliens in conflicts over resources initiated by Super-Earth. With innovative features like live human game masters,
the game offers an exciting experience.
Despite a rocky launch plagued by server issues and crashes,
subsequent patches have significantly improved its stability.
Helldivers 2 is available on Steam since its launch on February 8, 2024.
As a devoted fan of the original Helldivers, I find Helldivers 2 to be everything I hoped for—a chaotic, cooperative, and skill-driven third-person shooter that expands upon its predecessor’s strengths in three dimensions.
Kudos to Eurogamer for highlighting this achievement.
