Nintendo Switch menu was supposed to be different!

Exciting News: An early version of the Nintendo Switch interface has surfaced online, giving us a glimpse into the console’s original lively design. The leaked images, shared by Twitter user PaulFelixKelly, showcase a vibrant and colorful UI, reminiscent of Nintendo’s playful history.

Despite its current success with over 132 million sales, some fans have critiqued the Switch’s home menu for being bland. However, the leaked prototype UI reveals a more dynamic approach, featuring a picturesque color palette and a rearranged layout with larger buttons for news, eShop, and gallery.

In addition to the colorful aesthetic, the prototype UI displays changes in icon placement, with battery, Wi-Fi, and time icons relocated to the bottom-right corner. The settings button is smaller, allowing more space to visualize the selected item, creating a more responsive interface.

This leak isn’t the first glimpse into pre-release Switch software. A previous discovery in 2022 revealed a prototype boot animation. As we eagerly await the potential launch of the Switch 2 in the second half of 2024, it remains to be seen whether this prototype signals a new era of vibrant designs for Nintendo’s interfaces.
