27,000 accounts banned from Call of Duty!

The banhammer has fallen hard in the world of Call of Duty, with more than 27,000 Warzone accounts feeling the sting of the ban this past weekend.

Activision, the publisher behind the popular franchise, dropped the bombshell, while Team Ricochet, the brains behind the Ricochet anti-cheat system, hints that this may just be the beginning.

In a statement to CharlieIntel, Team Ricochet revealed they’ve “slammed the door on over 27,000 accounts” using a suite of enhanced detection systems. And they’re not done yet – more bans are on the horizon.

This crackdown comes hot on the heels of Season Three’s launch in MW3 and Warzone. However, not everyone is cheering. Some players, like the streamer BAMS, claim they’ve been unfairly banned for good.
Activision, though, remains tight-lipped on individual cases, sparking controversy in the community.

As cheating continues to plague online gaming, this banwave serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing battle for fair play. And while some may grumble about the sporadic nature of these bans, one thing’s for sure: the banhammer doesn’t discriminate. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a casual gamer, beware – the banwave could be coming for you next.
