Metal Gear Solid creator working on a new stealth action game!

Metal Gear Solid enthusiasts will be thrilled to discover that the mastermind behind the series, Hideo Kojima, is crafting an all-new stealth action game exclusively for PlayStation, titled “Physint.”

Kojima Productions has recently ventured into diverse projects like the open-world exploration game Death Stranding and the Xbox-exclusive horror game OD, departing from Kojima’s traditional stealth action roots. Hence, longtime fans can anticipate the excitement of witnessing him return to the genre that catapulted him to fame.

Renowned for revolutionizing the stealth action genre with the Metal Gear games, Kojima achieved monumental success with Metal Gear Solid on PlayStation 1, widely regarded as one of the most groundbreaking and innovative games ever created. The subsequent sequels also garnered universal acclaim. Given Kojima’s illustrious contributions to the Metal Gear Solid franchise, it’s undoubtedly thrilling to see him take on a new stealth action challenge.

Kojima made the announcement about his latest stealth action game following the unveiling of a Death Stranding 2 trailer, confirming the game’s release window in 2025. Described as a “next-generation action espionage game,” development for “Physint” is set to commence earnestly after the release of Death Stranding 2. Kojima expressed confidence that this title would be the pinnacle of his work, hinting at a project transcending the boundaries between film and video games.

Although specifics about “Physint’s” storyline were not divulged during the State of Play, Kojima emphasized leveraging cutting-edge technology and global talent to create an extraordinary experience.

Labeling the new stealth action game as a “next-generation” title is an intriguing choice. Kojima Productions currently has two major projects in progress – Death Stranding 2 and OD, a collaboration with Jordan Peele for PC/Xbox. Given that development for the new stealth action game won’t intensify until after Death Stranding 2’s completion, it raises the possibility of the game debuting on the PlayStation 6, expected to launch in 2028, rather than the current PlayStation 5.

Rumors suggest a potential PS6 launch in for Death Stranding 2 2028. Unless Kojima Productions accelerates development within the next three years, it wouldn’t be surprising to witness the game making its debut on Sony’s next-gen console. As the game is yet to enter full-scale development, only time will reveal its platform destination.
