Mortal Kombat 1 developers seek fan input on Invasions Mode!

The Invasions mode in Mortal Kombat 1 hasn’t quite hit the mark with fans during its second season. While the game faces controversies, notably around microtransactions, Invasions specifically has failed to captivate players, often criticized as lackluster compared to Mortal Kombat 11’s Krypt.

Fans now have an opportunity to voice their concerns. NetherRealm Studios is circulating a survey within the player community, aiming to understand why Invasions haven’t resonated with players and whether they’re still engaging with this mode after just two seasons.

The survey delves into various aspects, allowing players to indicate if they’ve ceased playing Invasions after the first season and the reasons behind it. Furthermore, participants are encouraged to provide detailed feedback on the second season, known as Blood Moon.

Players are vocal about their critiques. Many suggest that Mortal Kombat 1 should offer more than just combat in Invasions. They propose adding interactive elements involving characters or exploring the lore of the world to inject life into the mode.

Reddit user turtleForest_ expresses, “The excess of non-impactful fights makes it feel excessively grindy. Including moments for character interaction, lore exploration, or world engagement would enhance the mode’s liveliness.”

Echoing this sentiment, patrick9772 adds, “It needs to be more than just battles. Introducing shorter matches with engaging pre-fight banter and expanding the RPG concept, involving maps, keys, and more, would greatly enhance the experience.”

While the next three seasons of Invasions have surfaced in leaks, it remains uncertain whether immediate action will follow based on fan feedback. Nonetheless, the survey signals NetherRealm’s initiative to understand player desires, hopefully leading to meaningful changes in the game. There’s anticipation that addressing these concerns might elevate the overall experience—perhaps even revisiting pricing strategies for in-game skins to further enhance player satisfaction.
