Leadership changes coming to Xbox as CEO steps down!

Microsoft’s gaming world is really going through some major changes! The heads of different departments from Activision Blizzard, like Brian Bulatao, Julie Hodges, Armin Zerza, and Grant Dixton, are all teaming up with their counterparts at Microsoft Gaming.

But there’s a catch—Thomas Tippl, who’s also from Activision Blizzard, is working with Matt Booty for now but will be leaving along with other execs in March 2024. Xbox bigwig Phil Spencer shared this scoop in an internal memo seen by The Verge.

And hold onto your controllers because there’s more news! Matt Booty himself dropped a memo revealing some cool shake-ups at ZeniMax and Bethesda. Jill Braff, who helped bring ZeniMax and Bethesda to Xbox in 2021, is now leading their development teams. Talk about coming full circle!

But what gamers really want to know is when they can expect Activision Blizzard games on Xbox Game Pass. Phil Spencer mentioned how the deal’s legal stuff slowed things down, so we might have to wait until 2024 for updates on new games joining the Pass. And in a tweet before the Microsoft deal, Activision Blizzard hinted that Modern Warfare III and Diablo IV won’t be hitting Xbox Game Pass this year. Patience might just be the ultimate power-up for now!
