Rockstar’s 5 million dollar blow after GTA 6 leak!

Rockstar spilled the beans in a UK court about last year’s GTA 6 leak, revealing it cost them a whopping $5 million and “thousands of hours of staff time.” The court drama intensified when Arion Kurtaj, a key player in the hacking group Lapsus$, got slapped with an indefinite life sentence in a hospital prison. Why? Allegedly for his part in the GTA 6 leak and his “intent to return to cybercrime as soon as possible.”

As the court proceedings unfolded, Rockstar detailed the hack’s aftermath, emphasizing the $5 million recovery cost and the massive time investment by their staff. The leak, dropping in September 2022, unleashed over 90 screenshots and videos showcasing an early GTA 6 build, catching everyone off guard with its unexpected announcement.

Fast forward to July 2023, Kurtaj was declared unfit for trial on psychiatric grounds. But hold on, just a month later, turns out he pulled off the hack from a hotel room using an Amazon Firestick, TV, and mobile phone, leading to his re-arrest.

Despite Rockstar being “extremely” disappointed about the leak, they bounced back big time by dropping the official GTA 6 trailer this month. However, not everything went smoothly, as the trailer leaked a day earlier than planned.
