Get ready for some updates, Diablo 4 fans! The second season, Season of Blood, is charging into the game on October 17, and it’s bringing along the most massive patch we’ve seen so far, known as update 1.2. Lucky for us, Blizzard has given us a sneak peek with patch notes that are over 14,000 words long! You can find all the patch notes listed on the Blizzards’ official news page, but if you’ve missed the exciting reveals for Season 2, let’s do a quick recap.

During a livestream on October 10, Blizzard shared that all five character classes are getting some serious makeovers. Rogues and Druids are staying pretty much the same since they were already in a good place. However, Sorcerers, Barbarians, and Necromancers are in for some major upgrades – check out the details below.

Now, here’s a standout change: the Necromancer’s pets are getting a whole new identity. Until now, pet builds (which are a big part of the Necromancer fantasy) haven’t been all that viable. Blizzard is making a strong effort to change that, making minions tougher and, in some cases, doubling their damage. Elemental resistances are also getting a complete makeover. Players will have more control over preparing for battles by gearing up with specific resistances. This will be super handy for taking on the new uber endgame bosses, each associated with a specific elemental damage type.

Blizzard is practically revamping most of the Uniques in the game for Season 2. These unique items that define your builds are getting more powerful and more likely to trigger their special effects in nearly all cases. All these changes are in addition to the new Season of Blood content and quality-of-life updates that Blizzard announced in its October 4 livestream. Get ready for some massive experience boosts and better stashes!

These updates are pretty extensive, so you might want to dig into the detailed patch notes to see how your character class is leveling up when Season of Blood kicks off on October 17.
