Picture this: two LAPD officers on duty, but instead of handling an active robbery, they’re out chasing down rare Pokémon in Pokémon Go. Dashcam footage just dropped, showing them ignoring signs, speeding through streets, and even going the wrong way down a one-way road, all for a Snorlax and Togetic.

Back in 2017, these officers, Louis Lozano and Eric Mitchell, went rogue while on the force. They ditched their duties for a Pokémon hunt and then lied about it. After an investigation, they were let go. Fast forward to now, and thanks to 404 Media’s Jason Koebler, there is video evidence. Watching it, you’ll see them zooming around, tailgating, and even blowing past stop signs in their patrol car. Why the rush? They were worried the Snorlax would vanish, and they didn’t want to miss out.

After that heart-pounding chase, they nabbed a Togetic, and the Pokémon chat got real. They talked about Togetic being Togepi’s evolution and dished about its rare move, “Hidden Power.” Officer Mitchell even predicted the Master Ball’s future in the game! Once they finally caught the Togetic, the celebration was epic. Mitchell was shouting, “Finally!” and bragging about how jealous their buddies at the station would be. Can you believe they even drove the wrong way down a street during this excitement?

Then, their boss called them out for being MIA during a robbery. The higher-up was seriously concerned about their slow response. That’s when the officers tried to cover up, claiming they didn’t hear the radio. But guess what? The video showed they were in the car the whole time.

And that’s how Lozano and Mitchell’s Pokémon Go adventure ended up costing them their jobs in 2017. Wild, right?
