In a recent turn of events, Pocketpair, the developer of Palworld, has issued an apology to players for unintentionally fixing a bug that allowed them to capture Tower Bosses in the latest update, 0.1.5.0. While the update aimed to enhance the game’s stability and fix several bugs, it inadvertently upset Palworld fans who had come to view capturing Tower Bosses as an achievement rather than a glitch.
Palworld, which entered early access just last month, quickly gained attention as players discovered a bug allowing them to capture Tower Bosses Zoe and Grizzbolt. This unexpected feature became a source of pride for many gamers, turning it into an unintended achievement. The recent update 0.1.5.0, however, unintentionally addressed this bug, leading Pocketpair to issue a public apology on social media. Although the tone of the apology may be perceived as sarcastic, players can still retain the Tower Bosses they’ve already captured, with the fix preventing the capture of new ones. Despite the apology, the chances of Pocketpair reverting the fix seem slim.
The update not only fixed the Tower Boss bug but also introduced controversy by altering how Pal breeding works. Previously, players could eliminate negative passive traits through cross-breeding Pals. However, the new update led to some fixed negative traits being passed down to new generations, sparking outrage in the community. In response to player concerns, Pocketpair assured on their Discord servers that this change would be rolled back soon.
Despite the controversy, Palworld’s patch 0.1.5.0 strives to fix more issues than it introduces. The update addresses various glitches, enhances game performance, and introduces balance improvements. Additionally, a notable feature allows players to implement backup saves, providing a safeguard against potential data corruption.
While Pocketpair continues to address bugs in Palworld, the developer has shared a glimpse of the game’s future. With a roadmap laid out for Palworld’s journey towards its 1.0 release, players can anticipate new content, including additional islands, Pals, and bosses. The promise of PvP gameplay and the introduction of a Pal Arena, where players can pit their creatures against each other, adds to the excitement. The timeline for these additions remains uncertain, but Pocketpair’s commitment to delivering an evolving and enriched gaming experience is evident.
